On June 16, SpaceX filed with the U.S. SEC confirming its all-stock acquisition of Anysphere, developer of the AI programming tool Cursor, at an implied valuation of approximately $60 billion with no cash consideration. Upon completion, Cursor will become a wholly-owned SpaceX subsidiary, integrated into Elon Musk's SpaceX and xAI ecosystem. Cursor is currently the world's most popular AI code editor with over one million monthly active developers. Analysts say the acquisition completes Musk's "model-compute-application" chain, leveraging SpaceX's Starlink compute infrastructure and xAI's model capabilities to build an enterprise-grade AI development platform. SpaceX shares closed up 4.8% the same day, reaching a $2.66 trillion market cap and surpassing Amazon to enter the global top five.
